| Crude Oil Processing Plan for the First Quarter of the Year 2003 |

Showa Shell group has set crude processing volume of the group refineries at 7,240,000KL, the same as a year before, for the first quarter of the year 2003, and the Company prospects the domestic demand of the first quarter 2003 to grow at 3% compared to the same period last year.
Increase of the domestic demand due to the shut down of nuclear power plants and the cold wave will be covered by domestic purchase and product import. For January, the Company has already secured 350,000 KL mainly of kerosene by the way stated above.
Showa Shell is going to keep the stable supply of the fuel products as necessary considering the trend of domestic demand also for February and after.
