| Crude Processing Plan for April 2003 |

Showa Shell Sekiyu Group refineries will process 2,440,000KL of crude oil (up by 22% compared to last year's actual) during April 2003.
This volume though higher by 22% than last year's actual is almost the same as that in April, 2001(2,420,000KL), up by only 1% since last year's volume (2,000,000KL) was held to 82.6% of the year before level due to the scheduled shutdown for maintenance in 2002. This volume has been planned with the demand level forecast at around 98% of the previous year excluding C Fuel Oil for power generation and also taking into account the inventory adjustment due to the demand increase in winter.
We are going to secure the supply with the products import and the domestic purchase of the products if the necessity arises.
We are going to keep the stable supply of the fuel products considering the oil situation both in the country and overseas also for May and after.
