| Crude Oil Processing Plan for May, 2003 |

Crude processing volume of Showa Shell Sekiyu Group has been set for 2,460,000 KL for May, 2003 (112% of the actual for May last year).
The reason for the volume increase over last year is, on top of the demand growth for C Fuel Oil for electric power generation due to the nuclear power plants shutdown, that there is no scheduled shutdown for maintenance at TOA Oil Co. this year while last year they conducted SDM.
If necessity arises in view of the supply/ demand balance we will secure necessary volume of supply by way of product import and domestic purchase.
From June onward also we are going to keep stable supply of fuel products in the domestic market by product import and domestic purchase as necessary, taking into consideration the domestic demand trend.
